I'm excited to begin a new wedding next week. This is a a nice sized wedding so I can work on it bit by bit all week. I'll put in 40 hours on this size of a wedding. I have already put in 6 hours of planning , ordering flowers, consulting with the Bride and her Mother, and making her sample centerpiece. Here is the sample centerpiece I made for her last month and we set it up Prescott Resort.

The Bride loved it but wanted more orange and less whites, the Brides mother wanted more whites but let her daughter decide. The Brides family had a budget of $50 per centerpiece plus and they rented the Effie tower vases. Seeing a sample centerpiece helps the Bride be sure her wedding will look as she envisions it. DIY Brides

The "Do it Yourself Bride" is a growing trend in today's economy. I have had several brides who only needed a bridal bouquet and the pin-on flowers from a real florist. The rest, they did themselves or had family pitch in. It's always an honor to help no matter how small!

And a whiteish Vintage bouquet for Mickey she just picked up last night for her wedding today. She was actually my winner of the free Bridal Bouquet for the 200 Prescott Bridal Expo. When I called her, have to admit, I was hoping she would need more flowers from me..but she was a DIY Bride. She did say she would not recommed it to other Brides..too many last min. details, and a lot of pressure and work instead of bubble baths.

Here are some popular rental items for weddings in Prescott areas. As you can see renting is a lot more affordable as most of the money can be usedfor the flowers not vases you don't want ! Just call for prices,, as it is less the larger the wedding package deal is.

White muslim Chuppa ($300 total) and or Candelabra's which also come with 9 Candelabra candles if you need them rents for $50. We aslo rent most vases for a fration of the cost.

Green Wedding

Green Bridal Bouquet of hydrangea, virbiurm, green spider mums, garden mint, kale

rosemary, white cymbidium, lisianthus, hanging amaranthus, monkey tail and a relaxed tie. Carley wanted an all "green" wedding . She liked the "Green Habitat bridal" I made for the Prescott Bridal Expo 2009. As I got to know the couple over coffee, it was clear Chad and Carley were looking for fun and meaning in their wedding. The wedding was planned at Carley's childhood home in Breezy Pine Prescott and her Mother was a Bluegrass singer! This couple wanted an intimate, relaxed and natural outdoor wedding. Carley said there was always fresh mint in the creek and it needed to be in every flower bouquet. I mentioned that it is a folk tradition to use rosemary in weddings, so that was included.. and so that's how we all three planned each arrangement. In the end, it was way over there budget; so we cut out the herbed pots with fareies, the arch flowers and even the moss pillow.

But her flowers were all she imagined and more!Maid of Honor bouquet.

Even the toss bouquet was "wild" and very natural looking. Everything smelled so herby, have to admit it was a blast to be a wild as I wanted and just O.D. on green.

The Groom wanted everything in his bout and they especially loved the monkey tail. I couldn't resist adding a tiny kale bud! Carley's other color was chocolate browns.

All the wedding party folks wore either green or white cymbidiums. Carley wore orchids and rosemary in her hair.

Caged Tulips

Miles and Ashely's wedding was all in warm orange and reds. Ashely's favorite flower was the tulip so I created this bouquet and then caged it in bear grass to make it stand out. Many thanks go to Miranda for the great pictures!

Blue Roses to go..

I had another pick-up order, early this morning for a Blue Rose wedding in Flagstaff. This was a no frill, budget wedding so most of the cost went into the blue roses and minimal on "extra" flowers and no greens.The

Bride, Lisa, wanted a silver wrap and I added a very thin silver wire as a clean line accent.

I couldn't resist using the blue bacholor buttons, and blue delphinium in my garden, to make the hair piece for Lisa

There were two Brides maids bouquets and four extra posy's instead of corsages. This is a great option as a posy is only about $10 more than a corsage and has more impact. Yea, faster than a corsage too!

I suspect Lisa re-used these for the tables with the large bag of blue rose petals she ordered. Smart.

Ten bout's and only the Grooms was different and the wedding flowers were done! Stunning, clean lines and afforadble...under 500 plus tax!!

Orange orchids

Tiffany loved orange and orchids, so I ordered Monkara, Cymbidiums and Dendrobiums. Her other colors where pure white , blue, lime green and some yellow.

Her wedding was supposed to feel a bit beachy and she wanted clean lines.

Tiffany's bridal bouquet was made out of white cymbidiums, iris, freesia and some spanish heather.

The bride loved the brilliant orange color of the cymbidium corasages and Mokara Bout's for the wedding family and the wedding party.

Honestly though , these Mokara orchids had me in tears as they are so sensitive and easily break and bruise. I would never recommend for a DIY bride. I babied and even prayed over them!

Tiffany found this ring pillow idea. Guests loved it ..and I have a feeling I will be making many more of these.! It is paked in a cake box, check back for more pictures of these flowers in action.

Another idea Tiffany had. This trellis is hung with white garlands of nearly 400 carnation and crysanthum blooms. Her wedding ceremony took place at Emerey Riddles new chapel and the backdrop of Watson lake was stunning.

Here a a special arrangement I did for the reception hall. At night the blue aqua lights just glowed throught the vase of curly willow and dendrobiums. Tiffany had rented a house for the reception. I have have to say the catering company www.PerfectEventsCatering.com by Linda Parish, made everything go like clockwork and the food was gormet!

These were the table centerpieces Tiffany wanted . Here we are trying to include all her colors so we kept the tables overlays white. The flowers are all cymbidiums. Again, it looks easier than it is to get the beargrass/orchids to stay in place underwater.

This Lime Vase was the feature arrangement at the Chino Farm wedding, May 16th, 2009.

The bridal bouquet had seven calla's and the bridesmaids each carried a single calla-lily.

The groomsmen, the groom's double mini calla, the best man and the ring bearer bout's

The wedding family flowers sets of mini calla and mini cymbidium corsages.

For all the classic calla-lilies and orchids the wedding was very country western. Guests walked a dusty trail from the parking lot to the tent and signed the guest book at a water stop. Everyone wore jeans and hats. The coyboy boot full of flowers was the only hint there was gonna be a wedding at the end of the trail.

Have to say everyone was into the country western theme or did I just discover how Chino Valley folks live?

Here comes the Bride! Yee-haw, it feels like the 18th century..I should have gotten a picture of the chicken coop ..the hens were going on during the whole ceremony ..it was too perfect!

May Tri-a-thon

May is glorious flower fun but very demanding.

First was the mad prom rush,(why are teenager guys so last minute?)

 then Mother's Day ,

 with more last minute Big guys.

Ordering flowers for Mom's day is like gambling.

I won this year as we sold out on M-day and then sold every plant.

The focus on most arrangements was a gorgous lavender rose called COOLWATER.

Lavender is like a mature version of girlish pinks and purples.

This Rose Topiary was a hit.

I finish the May tri-a-thon with straight friday and saturday weddings,

and lots of Vit B, Vit coffee and serious dark chocolate.

At the end of the day and hopefully by the end of the month

 I can still say I love, love, love, my job!
