My own niece is getting married and of course we will be delivering her wedding flowers all the way to Tuscon! She wants yellow and pink and to uses lilies if possible. She has a baby and wants a simple low cost wedding, no problem, just happy to be a part of such a happy day!
The crown piece made the wedding atmosphere for my niece..we hung it on the arch during the ceremony

Flower girl sea ball

One of the 2009 floral trends is called "Habitat". Flowers that reflect the Brides eco-friendly beliefs. It is a trend that is growing very popular. This bouquet designed by Flowers by design(me!) has all the botanical elements brides crave. Cymbidium orchids, Green-tea Rose Natural seeds, Pods and Berries all caged in curly willow branches. Even the stems are wrapped in natural fresh green leaves. Oh, and don't miss the monkey tails in the center of this richly textured bouquet.
PINK Molin Rouge Theme
A pairing a hot pink roses called "Reveal" and black ostrich plumes make an exquisite sassy bridal statement.
Faux Fuchsia Gems trim the Black velvet wrap. And scattered about the roses are pink orchids with sprays of black crystals. Top Hat rind-bearer and black purse for flower girl. 'Cause Girls just wanta have fun!
M O R E B O U Q U E T S
I have endless ideas, my only limit is budget and time
Winner of the free bridal bouquet was Mickey Youngs, for her September 5th Wedding. Congratulations!! Every Bride deserves a special order, one-of-a-kind, Bridal Bouquet of her dreams!

I'm looking forward to this years bridal expo ! There are 3 maybe 4 of us splitting the booth cost. Our theme is " Midnight in Tuscany". So far that means real blue roses, a floral lamp, a euro scotter and a fasion model in a black tee-shirt as pat of her wedding gown! The graphics and effects will be unforgetable. The unearthly glow of blue roses enraptures the beholder and none can resist the temtation to touch, and smell and see if it is real or imagined. Of course, this is just our Idea..we are still dreamin and schemein. We will see how far our starving artist wallets take us... hum...
Does anyone what to get married , say Sunday, Jan 18 after the show?? You will have an over-the-moon complete blue rose wedding!!! Just cover the actual rose and gown cost, not labor. Your wedding could be in Blue rose's and you could wear a cool urban-chic wedding gown!
Let's get together!
But do look for us 10Am to 3pm !

A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL THE FALL BRIDES WHO MADE MY JOB A BLAST!
YOU WERE THE MOST CREATIVE BRIDES I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH! YOU HAD STRONG THEME'S AND KNEW WHAT YOU NEEDED. I THANK EACH OF YOU FOR TRUSTING ME WITH YOUR FLOWERS AND YOUR VISION. I LAY AWAKE THINKING OF WAYS TO MAKE YOUR FLOWERS EVEN BETTER BECAUSE YOU WERE SUCH A JOY.
MALORY; YOU WANTED BLUE ROSES, THE MOON AND THE GREAT GADSBY THEME! (HA,HA ) I ENJOYED THE FREEDOM TO DESIGN WITH BLUE ROSES, FEATHERS, CRYSTALS AND 100'S OF HYDRANGEAS. GREAT PICTURES! NAOMI'S "MODEST BEAUTY" WORK IS INCREDIBLE...THE BRIDE AND GROOM LOOKED FAB!
ALISA; I ENJOYED BRAIN STORMING WITH YOU AND YOUR MOM OVER TEA AT THE WILDFLOWER. YOUR TUSCANY THEME WAS WELL THOUGHT OUT. I UNDERSTOOD YOUR VISION RIGHT OFF. SO GLAD YOU TOOK MY SUGGESTION TO UP- SCALE YOUR FLOWERS INTO LARGER CONTAINERS. AND TO MAKE EACH RUSTIC TUSCANY CONTAINER ONE-OF-A-KIND. I LOVED SEEING YOUR EYES WHEN YOU SAW YOUR BRIDAL!
DEANICA --YOU HAD THE MOST LIMITED BUDGET BUT WE MADE IT WORK AND KEPT YOUR FAVORITE FLOWERS IN YOUR BOUQUET. I WAS PLEASED TO BE ABLE TO THROW IN SOME EXTRA'S FROM MY GARDEN. YOU MADE MY DAY CALLING WITH TEARS OF JOY WHEN YOU SAW YOUR BOUQUET.
ASHTON; THANKS FOR SENDING PICTURES YOUR CHOICE OF HOT COLORS COMBOS WORKED SO WELL FOR JUNE!
I ENJOYED MAKING EACH BOUQUET FOR YOUR BRIDES MAIDS DIFFERENT. WE ALL JUST LOVED WORKING WITH YOU! YOU WERE FLEXABLE AND IT TURNED OUT WELL. LOVED YOUR FAMILY TRADITION OF TYING 3 GERERATIONS OF WEDDING RINGS ON YOUR BOUQUET,
JAMMIE; LOVED DESIGNING YOUR WEDDING BOUQUET WITH YOUR BLACK CALLAS AND FEATHERS .
IT LOOKED SO ELEGANT TO USE THE SILVER-WIRED PEARLS AND BLACK VELVET FOR THE WEDDING PARTY
AMY; LOVED YOUR GREEN WEDDING THEME. IT WAS A CHALLENGE TO WEAVE AN AMATURE BOUQUET BASE OF CURLY WILLOW AND THEN ADD IN ALL THE COOL FLOWERS YOU WANTED. I MADE SURE YOU GOT THOSE MONKEY TAILS! LOVED MAKING EACH BRIDESMAID BOUQUET NOT ONLY DIFFERENT FLOWERS BUT DIFFERENT STYLES FROM ORCHID CASCADES TO ARM HELD WILDFLOWERS.
WISH I HAD YOUR E-MAIL, IF YOU SEE THIS SEND PICTURES!
NINA --LOVED YOUR "WORLD MARKET" THEME. TIME WAS SO SHORT (3 WEEKS!) BUT I HAVE TO SAY YOUR BOUQUET WAS A MASTERPIECE. SPONTANIOUS SHAPED CASCADE OF CALLAS WITH CAGING AROUND ORCHIDS AND WIRED DENDROS OFFF TO ONE SIDE , WEW!

YOU SAID; "SURPRISE US" SO I ADDED MONKEY TAILS TO ALL THE MENS BOUTS
ALL CLASSIC WHITES DONE IN UNCLUTTERED MODERN STYLE...AN INTERNATIONAL LOOK.
CLEAN LINES, SIMPLE LINES LOOK EXPENSIVE!

GARDENIAS FLOATING ABOVE RIVER STONES FOR THE TABLES
GO GERBER'S
This was a beautiful summer wedding with Gerber daisy's in the color of Watermelon. Clover was the accent color/The bride wanted her wedding to be FUN and Young! This was the only professional picture, too bad!
The happy couple...

Watermellon gerbers in wheat grass trays on every table, brought life to the indoor banquet room!
Bouts were in green kermit poms.
This is not my picture as there was not a professional photographer at the wedding. So this is a John Henry picture that I used as my model
Cake was gerbered out!
Such a beautiful wedding party !
Here was another small summer wedding for an older couple using deep reds and purples.
We choose a Tussy-Mussy Bouquet to go with her old world theme. We secured her requested Sweet William then choose Spray Roses, Rose buds with Rosemary and a green collar.
Here are some of the Table centerpieces ready to go.
This was a pick-up order with several extra bags of red rose petals for $12 each (our bags our double local florist size)
This was for the head table. Sweet William, Spray Rose, Lisianthus, Asters, Rosemary and Aspargus fern. Notice we don't arrange the old salt and pepper style, "grouping" similar colors is not only trendy but looks more expensive.
Cake Topper. The corsages were similar looking just smaller bouquet's with natural stems.

Head Garland in monocromatic Grooms bout to go with Brides Headpiece whites.

free Toss-away w/extra blooms wedding party flowers,
corsages had 3 roses
Close-up of the Bridal Bouquet. This Bride wanted dark purples and reds but let me choose the combination of colors for her arrangements. So I kept the Bridal Bouquet in monocromatic red's and the Head garland all in whites. Monocromatic color's always look more mature and classic for the Bride. The rest of the arrangements looked great using a mix of her bold colors.

O.K. I am going to vent a bit..we had our 1st ever dreaded Bridzillia. She actually smiled for the camera with clinched teeth! In beween photo shoots she sent her Maid of Honor to harrass all the venders and her Mother to glare at everyone! It was so bad that we all saw that her cake (a home made job) was starting to lean but know one wanted to fix it out of fear she would sue. The DJ was stiff unable to do anything spontanious. Vendors and guests raved about the flowers but the Bride never said thank you, we don't think she ever saw her flowers. All during set-up the Bridzillia sent her Father to tell us her latest fear's. She suddenly wanted rose petals on every table and and she wanted me to run back to the shop for some trinket she had forgot to tell me about. There were other wierd requests that were not in the contract, and were not paid for. I keep quiet and figured out ways to keep her happy..or at least at bay...So here is my only responce to any future bride who does not want to turn into the feared Bridzillia.
AT LEAST ONE MONTH BEFORE YOUR WEDDING DAY, STOP PLANNING. LET IT GO AND BE THE BRIDE. TALK TO YOUR GROOM ABOUT SOMETHING OTHER THAN WEDDING PLANS. GO ON SOME ROMANTIC DATES. HE'LL BE THRILLED TO HAVE HIS GIRL BACK! HAVE FUN, TAKE LOTS OF BUBBLE BATHS. GET A FACIAL. DREAM ABOUT THE HONEY-MOON AND THE MARRIAGE TO YOUR BEST-FRIEND .
REMEMBER THE MAIN THING. WHAT IS THE MAIN THING? IT IS YOUR MARRIAGE TO THE MAN OF YOUR DREAMS! YOUR WEDDING IS THE FIRST DAY OF YOUR MARRIAGE. IT IS YOUR CHOICE IF IT WILL BE FUN OR STRESSFUL
ONCE THE FLORIST HAS THE BRIDES OVERALL VISION AND STYLE..WHICH IS SURE TO HAVE HAPPENED LONG BEFORE THE WEDDING DAY...REVIEW THE CONTRACT AND ACCEPT THAT YOU WILL ONLY GET THE BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS YOU HAVE PAID FOR. THEN IT'S TIME TO LET IT HAPPEN ( STOP WEARING DOWN THE FLORIST CALLING AND E-MAILING HER)
THE MORE THE BRIDE TRUSTS THE FLORIST AND GIVES HER FREEDOM TO DESIGN THE WEDDING FLOWERS, THE MORE CREATIVE THE WEDDING FLOWERS WILL BE, IN A WORD, "BETTER"! A BRIDE WHO CONTROL'S EVERY FLOWER WILL STRESS HERSELF OUT, NOT TO MENTION THOSE IN HER LIFE. MOST BRIDES TRUST THEIR VENDORS LONG BEFORE THEIR WEDDING DAY. BUT A FEW BRIDES DO NOT. WHAT HAPPENS? THE BRIDE LOOSES. THE FLOWERS LOOK GREAT, THE MUSIC PLAYS THE PICTURES SNAP BUT SHE MISSES OUT OF THE JOY OF HER OWN HAPPY DAY.
NO ONE CAN MICRO-MANAGE AND RELAX AT THE SAME TIME.
EVEN IF YOUR WEDDING WAS FLOWER-LESS, GOD-FORBID,..THE CERMONY, THE VOWS, THE JOINING OF ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN, THE FRIENDS AND FAMILY AT THE RECEPTION WOULD STILL BE VERY POWERFUL AND MEMORABLE..
JUST A WORD OF ADVISE, LET THE FLORIST DO WHAT SHE DOES BEST, LET THE BAKER BAKE THE CAKE, ETC; AND MOST OF ALL ENJOY BEING THE BEAUTIFUL BRIDE. ALL EYES WILL BE UPON YOU..THOSE PICTURES WILL LAST YOUR LIFETIME AND YOU WILL WANT TO BE GLOWING HAPPY FROM THE INSIDE OUT.

I just read my blog and realized how much my business has grown. Weddings are happening! It is exciting work and I'm nearly booked for this summer. Best of all, not one wedding is similar, all are creative, and each bride has been amazingly organized. They have pictures, colors, and themes worked out before they come to me. I've never had the florist-feared, unappeasable "Bridzillia." My brides are sweet, on serious budgets and resourceful...they find me against all odds!
Gift baskets are selling slowly but everyone loves them so far! And I love my part-time designer job as I am learning the coolest tricks and latest trends from an inspiring pool of florists. Can't believe I'm remembering to write this now. Just one week before the #1 biggest event of the entire florist year ..Mother's Day. My fingers are already sore from preping/greening and preparing flowers for everyone's favorite MOM. Mother's do rule the world!

Winter is a magical time of wonder..
I do love winter weddings too. They are magical and you associate it with sparkling, crisp snow that is so white it sometimes looks bluish. I bet that even if you live in an area that does not experience real winter this word conjures the snow scene in your mind. Here are some ideas I found;
ATTIRE for BRIDE GROOM and WEDDING PARTY WINTER WEDDING RECEPTION: IDEAS FOR WINTER WEDDING CENTERPIECES: For added effect, place your centerpieces on a mirror. An ice sculpture surrounded by a wreath of white or white and light blue flowers adorned with silver ribbon, by a chain of flickering lights or by 4 snow globes. A candle (in a hurricane glass) surrounded by a wreath of white or white and light blue flowers adorned with silver ribbon or by 4 snow globes Snow men/women Glass snow flakes, Silver foil covered hershey kisses, Pails, crystal or glass bowl filled with clear marbles, downy feathers fiberfill or cotton ball sprayed with glitter Winter motif confetti. WINTER WEDDING FAVOR IDEAS: CEREMONY: BRIDAL ACCESSORIES: WINTER FOODS INCLUDE: Permission to Reprint
Winter is best represented by white, silver, platinum and light blue. These are the perfect color choice for a winter theme wedding. You can incorporate these colors in the bride, groom and wedding attendants attire. White for the bride and groom, light blue and / or silver for the attendants. However, you have other options too. You may have the bridesmaids dresses made of fabric with snow flakes or stars motif that may even accented with white fur like fabric. Since you are planning gifts for your bridesmaids and flower girls, present them with Swarovski crystal on silver with or without pearls, or pearl jewelry on silver such as that offered in our discount mall. Tiaras should also be studded with swarovski crystals and or pearls on silver. The Swarovski jewelry glitsens like snow in the sun while pearls offer the prism. What a wonderful yet inexpensive way to have your bridal party match the winter theme of your wedding.
Look for a reception hall that has a fireplace. If lighting a real fire is not permitted, use make-believe logs that look like real lit fireplace. Many stores carry them. You may also check with your local theater for props.
Use silver serving pieces, glass or crystal drinkwear and winter white dishes.
Decorate with silver, white, platinum and light blue. Use one of the colors or coordinate these colors for your table cloths and napkins, garlands, streamers, icicles, tinsel, balloons, ribbons, flowers with silver ribbons in silver vases, flickering light strings, snow flakes or stars etc... You may wish to spray your decorations with sparkle or fake snow. White and blue tulle will also help create a winter atmosphere.
If you can afford it, hire an ice sculptor. If not, do it yourself, make your own ice sculpture with kits available at A-wedding day. For information go to
http://www.2.a-weddingday.com/weddingcrafts/makeyourownicecarvings.html
Ice sculptures will be a magnificent addition.
If your wedding reception venue permits it, be sure to use candles to depict warmth.
Either or both, ice sculpture and candles make very elegant centerpieces.
White or white and light blue flowers in a silver or crystal vase
Gifts of crystal, silver, candles, soaps, silver or crystal picture frames / place card holders. Decorate the wedding favors with white tulle, white-light blue or silver ribbons, silver bells, snow flakes white flowers etc...
Use white, silver, platinum and/or light blue, pew bows, flower arrangements where white and light blue are dominant and are tied with silver ribbon. Place your unity candles in silver candle holders which you may choose to decorate with white flowers, or leave the silver to glisten. Spray glitter on the petals in the flowergirl's basket.
Choose a collection of matching accessories. Most collection will include most of the accessories for your ceremony and reception. (A unity candle set, guest book, pen, ring pillow, toasting flutes, cake serving set, and garter.)
You may choose a collection that is adorned with white flowers, such as gerbera daisies, roses, calla lilies, carnations, gardenias, magnolias, alstromeria and snowball mums. You may choose a collection that is adorned with white ribbons, pearls, sWAROVSKI CRYSTAL or rhinestones, Angels, holiday motifs.
If you prefer non-white accessories, silver/platinum are available.
Hot chocolate, hot cider, mulled wine, fondue, hot soup, warm bread or rolls snowman/woman, star and/or snow flake shaped sugar cookies.
Here is a guide line to help you get start making those decisions on your wedding flowers.
1.Choose colour(s) as this creates the greatest overall impact! Do you love; chocolate and pink, shades of purple, cool blues, pure white, deep reds, forest greens,? Your colors often go with a mood, or a place you love..close your eyes dream a little first..then..
2. Pick your mood, theme or a place that reflects your love. Maybe where he proposed or the place you both realised he/she was the one? Then try to come up with 2 words that best describe your dream wedding ..your fiancee can help here!
3. Lets create your bridal bouquet! Do you invision carring a round bouquet or in you arms or a bouquet that cascades? What are your favorite flower(s). Every bride should carry her best down the asile, we can alway "budget", if you need, on the other arrangements. Also flower variety. Try to decide if you like larger defined blooms or smaller petite clusters. Most brides fall in love with a bridal bouquet picture and then we go from there.
By taking the time to think about colour then Mood, you will find it easier to define your "look". If you still can?t decide, then don?t worry ? I have plenty of great ideas and pictures.
If your wedding THIS is winter...I'd also need to know your date , as soon as possible, as winter saturdays are filling up!
I can vary the package deals to suit your wedding with seasonal flowers based on your answers to the 3 questions and of course your budget.
And just for your peace of mind know that ...My flowers are cut underwater and hydrated in floral solution 24 hours in my floral cooler, before arranging. No wilting on your day! ( I actually worked in a florist shop where they never used any floral food!)Every bouquet and arrangement is created with meticulous attention to detail. Each bloom is de-pollinated to remove any risk of staining your bridal gown. Stems are bound at the last minute, so that every flower is it's freshest on your wedding day.
God bless!
Your wedding florist,
Laurie

I do love winter weddings too. They are magical and you associate it with sparkling, crisp snow that is so white it sometimes looks bluish. I bet that even if you live in an area that does not experience real winter this word conjures the snow scene in your mind. Here are some ideas I found;
ATTIRE for BRIDE GROOM and WEDDING PARTY WINTER WEDDING RECEPTION: IDEAS FOR WINTER WEDDING CENTERPIECES: For added effect, place your centerpieces on a mirror.
God bless!

I love the outdoor weddings in the fall as the sun sets..so romantic!

I just read my blog and realized how much my business has grown. Weddings are happening! It is exciting work and I\'m nearly booked for this summer. Best of all, not one wedding is similar, all are creative, and each bride has been amazingly organized. They have pictures, colors, and themes worked out before they come to me. I\'ve never had the florist-feared, unappeasable \"Bridzillia.\" My brides are sweet, on serious budgets and resourceful...they find me against all odds!
\nGift baskets are selling slowly but everyone loves them so far! And I love my part-time designer job as I am learning the coolest tricks and latest trends from an inspiring pool of florists. Can\'t believe I\'m remembering to write this now. Just one week before the #1 biggest event of the entire florist year ..Mother\'s Day. My fingers are already sore from preping/greening and preparing flowers for everyone\'s favorite MOM. Mother\'s do rule the world!

Winter is a magical time of wonder..
\nI do love winter weddings too. They are magical and you associate it with sparkling, crisp snow that is so white it sometimes looks bluish. I bet that even if you live in an area that does not experience real winter this word conjures the snow scene in your mind. Here are some ideas I found;
ATTIRE for BRIDE GROOM and WEDDING PARTY WINTER WEDDING RECEPTION: IDEAS FOR WINTER WEDDING CENTERPIECES: For added effect, place your centerpieces on a mirror. An ice sculpture surrounded by a wreath of white or white and light blue flowers adorned with silver ribbon, by a chain of flickering lights or by 4 snow globes.

Here is a guide line to help you get start making those decisions on your wedding flowers.
\n1.Choose colour(s) as this creates the greatest overall impact! Do you love; chocolate and pink, shades of purple, cool blues, pure white, deep reds, forest greens,? Your colors often go with a mood, or a place you love..close your eyes dream a little first..then..
\n2. Pick your mood, theme or a place that reflects your love. Maybe where he proposed or the place you both realised he/she was the one? Then try to come up with 2 words that best describe your dream wedding ..your fiancee can help here!
\n3. Lets create your bridal bouquet! Do you invision carring a round bouquet or in you arms or a bouquet that cascades? What are your favorite flower(s). Every bride should carry her best down the asile, we can alway \"budget\", if you need, on the other arrangements. Also flower variety. Try to decide if you like larger defined blooms or smaller petite clusters. Most brides fall in love with a bridal bouquet picture and then we go from there.
By taking the time to think about colour then Mood, you will find it easier to define your \"look\". If you still can?t decide, then don?t worry ? I have plenty of great ideas and pictures.
\nIf your wedding THIS is winter...I\'d also need to know your date , as soon as possible, as winter saturdays are filling up!
\nI can vary the package deals to suit your wedding with seasonal flowers based on your answers to the 3 questions and of course your budget.
\nAnd just for your peace of mind know that ...My flowers are cut underwater and hydrated in floral solution 24 hours in my floral cooler, before arranging. No wilting on your day! ( I actually worked in a florist shop where they never used any floral food!)Every bouquet and arrangement is created with meticulous attention to detail. Each bloom is de-pollinated to remove any risk of staining your bridal gown. Stems are bound at the last minute, so that every flower is it\'s freshest on your wedding day.
\nGod bless!
\nYour wedding florist,
\nLaurie
